Cheers Canadian Fishin' at its best

This is what myself, my son, and his buddy did for the weekend. Nothin better than shad (we call them a poor man's salmon), chain pickeral, and bass fishin' all in the same day...great company and beautiful country. Even met some international students from Germany who were canoeing down the brook to the lake for an overnighter. Some of you southern boys are gonna have to come up and give it a go

The river where we were fishin' the shad (the 1st 3 pics), there were 300 people lined up on the banks later that afternoon, it's really popular as they are really aggressive, fight like crazy, and even jump out of the water trying to spit out the hook. It's wicked fishin' for sure but best to get there early in the morning to avoid all the people, some people will cast directly over your shoulder to get at the honey hole. It's gets pretty in tense sometimes as the guys get pretty upset when that happens.

Black Bear,

I have fished Great Slave Lake three times. Beautiful, pristine place and wonderful, happy people.

Great Slave lake has some real lunkers in it from what I hear. It is at the other end of the country but I have a brother who lives close to there and he has some pics of some real nice steelhead.
