Default Calcasieu Redfish

Fished Sat starting around noon south of Prien lake. Water was very low at the start and not much biting. Around 2pm the wind switched south and water started rising. Found some redfish stacked up in deep water, caught em on plastics fished slow on the bottom.

Nice catch. Seems like I have been seeing more and more reds with multiple spots lately.

Default Shrimp?

When I cleaned the fish I found the stomach's full of small shrimp along with some shad. Would not have thought there was still shrimp in the north portion of the estuary?

launched at Prien and headed south. Did not realize how far I had traveled until I called it a day and started pedaling back. 1 hour non-stop pedaling back to the launch. Should have packed an extra sandwich, and beer.

Default 210 launch

That's the place, had to drag the yak in the mud to get to water that I could float in.
The big redfish in the pic is getting served as dinner now.
