I only been up there one time.......many years ago. Bigggggg place to hunt.

Only deer that I saw that trip was Sunday while leaving. It crossed the road coming from a 1 yr old cutover into some pines. Of course the guns were in the case behind the seat. This was just 50 yards from the black top highway.

Suggestion..... study the maps and maybe Google Earth.

my buddy said most of maps are out of date, cleared land is grown up and a lot of timber is cut or short pine. Look at a map and find bottoms, they hunt draws that run from pine timber towards the major creek bottom.

I was told DO NOT PARK ON ROADS. If you aren't local and park on the road, you will get towed.

There is alot of pipelines up there, LDWF used to plant them in rye grass(not sure if they still do). Also alot of good hardwoods along the creeks, find the feed trees and sign. I saw 16 deer off of one pipeline in 4 days one year but the next year I hunted the same spot and didn't see anything. They have alot of deer and alot of people up there, but the first rut should be on and with all the doe days they have its definetely worth the drive. Good luck
