Well I'm starting to count down the days till I'm out. Hopefully looking at working at solvay chemical up in east baton rouge parish. Currently sitting in the Mediterranean just passed the Straits of Gibraltar the other day for the last time. Just waiting to hit Italy and then make the Suez transit and start dropping bombs to send non pork eaters to their sheep virgins.

Easiest way to get in is to start with a contractor........companies like Triad, ISC, GIS, Ardent are all in those facilites......Solvay has very little going on right now that I know of.
Thanks for your sevice, good luck with the job hunt. |

Not sure what type of work you are wanting to do but you can go see Ryan at Cajun Constructors in Baton Rouge and see what they have. We are a fast growing company and have multiple jobs in the plants from Lake Charles to New Orleans. We are a heavy civil contractor and hire carpenters, earth moving operators, laborers, helpers, etc. Hopefully Ryan can help. PM me if you need more information. Ive been with Cajun for 10 years and love this company.

Try posting your resume online. You will get calls from all over but you never know.

Turner, CB&I, and performance all do a lot of work in baton rouge. Go to the hiring offices and see what they have going on. A lot of times they will be hiring for shutdowns and you can get on as a boilermaker or some type of helper.
