Yeah if you fishing around a lot of grass it can work.
Or if you big fish fishing and want to make sure you don't hurt the fish too bad it's a good call. |

I believe he's referring to the 7-8-9 pound trout that most people like to put back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

ONCE AGAIN i wouldn't be worried about that, because it would be on my wall or in my ice chest regardless, when people can go catch 100+ trout relatively often, i wouldn't feel bad taking 1 pig out, bass, a great weekend, you might have 40-50 keepers

To me making sure big fish get put back in the water unharmed is a pretty big deal. But that's just me.

The guys who catch big trout catch them pretty frequently same spot year after year. Taking the best genes out of the breeding pool would adversely affect the number of fish genetically capable of reaching trophy class. Everything i just said is backed by no scientific studies.

I've been using these with good hookups on redfish. They catch the corner of the mouth and the circle design locks them in but they're easy to unhook.

Lot of redfish guys us them because if you hook one outside the mouth in a lot of tourneys you can't count the fish and reds seldom get the bait in their mouths good

I also look at it this way, them treble hooks can slow you down and cost you a lot of fish on a fast bite while your playing around trying to get all those hooks out only to re-snag as they come out. when you are catching as fast as you can cast you definitely don't want to be throwing treble hook baits. the way I see it, when a fish crashes the bait a single hook is all you need so there isn't much of a disadvantage in using one. its not like your going to be missing a ton of strikes because he didn't hit it just right to catch that single hook, when he grabs it he grabs it. |
