Default Trolling motor battrries?

What's the life spend for trolling motor batteries.
My TM was week (ipilot) when I put it on rabbit speed 10 it was moving slow. Also turning slow . charger showed green lights while charging

My batteries are a little over 3 years old

I have the generic batteries that came with my frontier from LAM
installed 6-6-2012. I figure next year I will pull them. Starting to fall off quicker while fishing.

4-5 years lifespan is about average.

2.5-3 years for me. I fish a lot and stay on the troll motor a good part of the day.

When I used the standard (flooded cell) batteries, I found that anytime after 24 months they could get a little suspect. I have switched to gel cell, but have not had them long enough to have an opinion.

I change them every three years regardless as that seems to be the life cycle IME.

Alphaman....were you fishing last Saturday at the mouth of Bayou Chene? I saw a red Frontier with an I-pilot while I was fishing the bar across the East side of the opening. I was in white Blue-wave 24'.

Lawrence, I use agm batteries (never have to check the water level). My first set lasted 7 years and now I have the blue top Orbitals ordered from Amazon. Too early to tell how long they will last.
