This what I've heard. Do we have any idea on a price comparison between the two? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

About $6-700 for standard trim tab kit. $1050 for an atlas jack plate.
And $2000 for a 10ft power pole. So for about 4 grand you got all the bells and whistles for your sled. |

In no particular order 10ft pp, trim tabs, hydraulic jackplate, a good graph/gps. Jackplate and trim tabs go hand in hand, shallow water, jacplate up and trim tabs dowm, tabs force the bow of the boat down which mean it planes out faster

Trim tabs are last, if at all. More stuff to break and don't make or break a day.
Power pole is número uno, and sell the Tm you have and upgrade to the iplilot. |

I'm saving up for a red 10ft power pole.

I would sell your trolling motor and get a ipilot. If you don't have a gps that would be next, then power pole, then tabs.

Trim tabs will make a world of difference for that boat in rough or shallow water. Night and day difference when I put me on my 22 v-bay. That boat doesn't need jack plate, I never found a need for one on my 22 and it went all over big lake. Power pole would be high on my list. Electronics depends on what level you are looking for

Do I need a GPS to run the anchor function and stuff on the ipilot? Or is that part of the deal? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Id say Definitely trim tabs before jackplate bc you will be in more ruff water than shallow water

So pretty much what we've boiled it down to is ipilot and trim tabs. I could probably work it out to swing both this summer.

It's really night and day difference when in ruff water. Just put them all the way down and it's like having a plow on the front of the boat. Busting through the waves. But you will burn some gas!!!!

I tell you, I experienced trim tabs for the first time Sunday. Coming across big lake with 25 mph+ winds and you noticed the difference the trim tabs made for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

10' power pole.
Was in West Cove last Tuesday with a buddy in his 2104 Frontier working fish under birds ... Was super nice to be able barely lift via remote with stealth and drift at just the right pace with the wind and reanchor. We were able to both stay on the front deck side by side chunking due to when the PP was down it would keep the bow pointed at the fish or off center just slightly due to only having one pole. This happened twice back to back on two different sets of birds where the bait didn't zig zag much and was able to make easy stealthy drifts at the right distance with VERY MINIMAL use of the TM to not spook fish. I don't have a PP ... But gotta have one now ! Also .... Trim tabs ! For the reasons already stated. Last edited by jpd0144; 05-27-2015 at 11:45 PM. |

Yeah trim tabs are the (.)(.) My ipilot has almost replaced my powerpole. Im still glad I have em both, but if I had to choose one or the other it would be the ipilot.

Id say trim tabs would help out alot on that boat... bc when we had 3 fat kids in it they would help level out the ride alot.... Next would be PP... Then get a Humminbird Helix5 Gps... all you need on a bay boat... Ipilots are nice... the anchor lock is amazing...
