HOUMA – A 51-year-old Houma resident stabbed her daughter on Thursday after an argument over pizza, Houma Police said.

Elloise C. Smith, 51, 2652 Daniel Turner Trailer Court, got into an argument 27-year-old daughter, police said. Sgt. Dana Coleman of Houma Police said the daughter criticized her mother for bringing home pizza and not something to cook.

When the argument became physical, it spilled outside, Coleman said. Smith grabbed a glass bottle, broke it on the side of a mobile home and stabbed her daughter in the left shoulder, police said.

The daughter was transported to Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center for her injuries. Smith was charged with aggravated second degree battery
