Unless it was caught within the past 30 minutes...we would have heard about it.

Question I am more of a fresh water fisherman and am getting addicted to trout fishing so I like to learn alot about fishery. What is the length to weight ratio of a trout, now I understand when a female is loaded with eggs she'll be heavier.

I believe a 25" trout should weigh right about 5 pounds, then every inch after that is suppossed to be a pound. My star winning fish was 8.70 pounds, it was 28 3/4" long...so that formula pretty much is accurate.

Most of the time this is true, but not always.

a 25" trout is technically supposed to weigh 6lbs..according to the book trout masters....but i caught a 27 inch 7.5 lb. trout..so it dont mean that a inch is a pound...ive seen a guy catch a 30 inch trout on a charter i was deckhanding and it only weighed 6 lbs...thats wat we call a torppedo trout.

this one is 32.25" i can only imagine what a 36" would be.

Capt. Sheka and Wayne Brown as Legend Video films this awesome event. This fish went 10.75lbs and a whopping 32.25".

I hear that...I caught a 31" on the East Flats behind Port Aransas in the dead of Summer of 87 that only went 7#. Sickest looking trout I'd ever seen, little ole head and big eyes...looked like a Qtip with two ping pong balls for eyes.
Prettiest trout was a 28 1/2 that did go 8.5, so that formula does work a lot of the time. Trout had nice colors and most important...was FAT! I had it mounted.
