Actually I spoke to a old friend of mine yesterday from Vinton. I asked him the same thing. He told me to just launch and pick a spot to start fishing. He stated the fishing has been good all over. He recommended using a chartruese/black back crank bait, a watermelon Bass Kandi speed bug and a small spinnerbait in white with a gold willow blade. Hope this helps you out.

This is actually what a thread should look like... a man asks for help he and he gets it. NO BS involved. I hesitate to say BRAVO , asI have seen the simplest questions turn into disaster. Keep coming back.

hey big chaf.. that u mr. paul?? i was at sabine 2 weeks ago.. wasnt too bad for the conditions. all our fish were caught near green grass on tx rigged senkos. last week i got several reports of guys catching on finesse worms, speed craws/bugs and they been eating a small 100 series crankbait or similar sized bait really well, but i'd keep those favorite soft plastic baits tied on! dont forget to post a report when ya go!!

This might be a stupid question but since I don't know so I'll ask... What do you need to launch at Nibletts Bluff? (I know where it is located but can you just show up and drive into the park and go straight to the launch or do you need to get some sort of permit) Thanks!

The Park is a Calcasieu Parish Boat Launch, supported by the CPPJ, drive in and launch like you would at Prien Park, parking is secure and a good launch.

The North launch is better to use.

South launch is a little shallow and the bottom uneven.......It has been several years since I was there.

I launched at Nibletts and fished Big bayou on the south end where it meets with Sabine. Caught about six on baby bass crankbait and in the evening i caught 11 the last hour and a half before dark with a small black buzz bait. Small but loads of fun rippin them out the water with topwater.
