Default Skull Mount?

Looking for suggestions for techniques to do one. I have heard a few ways.
skin it then dig out eyes and what brains you can then boil for hours
stake down in an antbed until they pick it clean
heard there is like an acidic solution to put it in

Just wondering from the people who have done them before what they found to be the best technique
Im thinking ant bed

Ant bed? NO!!!!

I have used ant bed on small ones but if tree rats find it they will eat the horns, plus it dont smell good and the skull will be yellow

I know a few guys who would put it in the biggest and bed they could find with a cage around it to keep tree rats out. After most of it was clean they would boil the rest out then bleech the skull. Mounts came out pretty cool, but I've never tried it.

Man it's tough. My dad and I have done a few and they came out decent but it wasn't worth the trouble. My mule deer I killed this year are fixing to be shipped to me from Utah. Guy I had do skull mounts up there had these flesh eating beetles. Would be cool if someone around here had something like that.

There's a place in Oklahoma City that does the flesh eating beetle stuff. Watched a show on them a while back. It's pretty cool what they do!

The beetles work, just not feasible on price to do one skull.

If you want a shoulder mount, check with Steve/Josh German. They used to let you pay over time and may be able to get another cape for the mount.
