lol, never fails, you put the pole down to grab a beer or take a whiz and its gone, soon as you grab the pole it pops back up again lol.

I never laughed so hard as when my dad did this and a sand shark took off with his pole pulling it over the side of the boat before he could grab it (peed all over himself), we never saw his pole again but the 3 ft sand shark swam by the boat a couple of times dragging the cork line and his pole behind it lol.

Yes the 1/8...Not glow. I was looking at the bigger ones but the chunk of lead sticking out I figured would get in the way. I have caught reds , trout , white trout , flounder , sheephead , sailcat , hardhead , and bass love them.

I do not use corks at all. I use and old recipe that my grandpa showed me me many many years ago.

True, True, one technique I use when cork fishing is keeping the slack out of my line. I don't look at the cork, I feel for them just like fishing a jig on the bottom. If you do this you will double the amount of fish you put in the boat using this technique.

for the equipment, i use a fast snap tied to my line, a H&H oval cork, and a double rig I make myself with 80 lb leader material.

doing it this way I can swap the entire rig around quickly. you can go from a cork to a double rig on the bottom in seconds, very handy when time is of the essence.

i just use old style corks with dbl rig or vudu with a 20 pound mono leader.

Frequency of popping depends on feeding pattern. Winter usually less popping. Most important is after pop reel in slack. I reel down in one motion. Pop reel down.

Have never really thought about putting wire leaders under the corks.....is that mainly for abrasion issues when fishing a lot over reefs? I've only really seen them on bottom fishing presentations where that part of the line is lying flat against the bottom, or you're using it to combat lady fish or sharks.

Do any of you find yourself needing to adjust the knot on the jighead constantly so that it sits up when working it?
The wire leader comment is a joke. Instead of having to adjust the knot learn to tie a loop knot. This is the easiest one I have found....

This is probably one of the funniest SNL skits I've seen.
