I hit my grandma's pond again on Saturday afternoon. The bite was tough, but I did hook up with one nice gill...

I went to my f-i-l's buddy's place that evening to use up the rest of my crickets. I noticed that the bass were going after some of the bluegill as I was reeling them into the bank. I decided to see if I could hook up with one of the big bass, so I threw a dinky gill on one of my new 5/0 Trokar hooks and was able to hook up with a decent bass...

The hook got into its gill a little bit, but it swam away once I released it. It is hard to take a picture by yourself holding a cell phone and a five pound bass.
