Left the house around 7:00am. Was greeted at the launch with calm winds and slick calm water. Hit our first spot about 8:15am. started off throwing 1.5 KVD SS, nothing. Went to topwater, nothing. Tried wacky worm, nothing. Finally around 10ish, my girlfriends dad, Mike, hung this brute of a sac-au-lait. 15" long and 11" girth. With high hopes and a few more drifts over the brush pile, we couldnt catch another one. Called my girlfriend to bring us some shiners so we could try for white perch. She met us at the launch and jumped in with the bait. We were pumped that we would be catching white perch. Boy was I wrong. We tried a few different brush piles with a few buck bass (dinks) to show for. We decided to hit a known spot that "ALWAYS" holds white perch. On the way there, Bohunterbiff (Robert) threw his crankbait over the boat to troll. I did also. I hooked up first and it was on from there with double and triple hook-ups til 6:00pm. All fish were caught on norman lures SS 7-9ft and SS KVD 1.5 as well as a few other colors. We finished with 17 bass all under the slot and perfect for the frying pan and the monster white perch.
Who would've thought trolling for bass would make for such a good time ?
