Default 7/5 - 7/6 oyster bayou report

7-5... headed out from Berwick bright and early at 4am. Went straight to enstar rig...nothing happening. Waves were 1-2 and wind was whipping pretty good. Headed to Raccoon point and got on the south side the island. First cast nice keeper trout...ended up with 12 keepers no throw backs before the bite stopped. Called it a day early and back at the dock for noon.

7-6 same time left launch, stopped at oyster bayou and caught cocahoes, craokers and shrimp. Headed to Raccoon point....one trout and a bull red broke off. Waves still kicking more than i would have liked so we ran into Pelican island area. Caught some throw back trout and my son caught a nice bull red 42" 25# on a spec rig. After a 20 min fight and chasing it around with the trolling motor we tagged it and released it. Caught one slot red and called it a day around noon. Caught tons of salfin cats on plastic and live bait. All the fish we did catch were on matrix shad. Nothing on live bait at all except hardheads and sailfins.
Forgot to take pics of the specs but did get the one bull red.
