Get the pro 8' or the 10' blade. Depending on your budget. I like the mounting plate rather than drilling holes in your hull.

Also make sure of your clearance if you store your boat inside a shed

I installed a 10' blade on my boat this past weekend and it was pretty easy. You will need two people to hold pole up and mark holes if you do a normal transom mount.

What he said! The mounting bracket will flex & act as softener. I wouldn't drill any more holes in tramsom than necessary. I loved mine!

I'm with shaw I upgraded from a 6 to a 10 it made a huge difference. With 6 and 8 you are pretty limited to where you can use it. 10 is the only way to go unless you strictly fish shallow marsh.

I had the 8' & used it on a lot of reefs in BL, but it would slip on some deeper ones with a stiff wind. If I ever get another it'll be the 10'.

Ok so the 10' blade is the way to go? I like that it comes with the remote too. I think I'll get the mounting plate too. Thanks this s pretty much what I expected/thought but wanted a bit of confirmation.

If I had to pick between the two I would probably get the ipilot but it's pretty sweet with both of them. I can put my powerpole down and use the tm to hold me parallel to a bank in a current. If you are buying a new boat you should spring for the couple hundred extra for the ipilot.
