Todays Free Advice
If you work on your own vehicle and not only can't accomplish the task at hand but also break stuff on your vehicle during your failure then please please do not bring it to a mechanic and try to explain to him how to do the job. Not only do you look like a bigger dumbazz than he already thinks you are but you also get the "this guy is a douchebag phucktard" service fee added to your bill.

"Yea but I saw a video on YouTube and they said.........."
Not to say you can't learn things from YouTube DIY videos, because lord knows I have, but people need to know their limits. |

The ones I like are the ones with the "smarter then you" attitude, the ones that will continue to try to start and ACFT non stop for 25 mins and your right there telling him to "stop or your going to burn the starter up", but continues, because hes smarter, then blames the starter when it fails............$9000 later I start it nooooo problems!

I'm all for a guy saving a buck if he can but a person should know when there don't know what they are doing. If you don't know what you are doing them damn sure don't try to school the person that does know how to do it. I don't rebuild transmissions. Why? Because I don't know how that's why. I hire a guy that knows how.
Pride and ignorance do not mix well. |

We say ignorance and arrogance make a lethal combination! It's in every trade and occupation. We are constantly audited; not by competent technical people but by representatives of "certifying organizations" on their behalf. I have a hard time staying tuned in when someone starts off with "I'm not a chemist, but this is how I would do your job".
Of course, none of do that when talking about our sports teams. |

most truck drivers always know more than the mechanics

They need a better mechanic if that's the case. If they know more than him why are they bringing their truck to him? Shouldn't they do it themselves if they know so much?
