So I was looking at the Falcon Bucoo micro line today. Was looking for a Medium/Fast rod and noticed that they only offer a medium/Moderate. Would the medium/moderate work for pitching out the plastics for trout? Also, which do you guys prefer between the falcon Bucoo micro and the castaway pro series?

Keep in mind that Academy's selection is not always that great.

Very true my friend! I loved the feel of the Castaway Pro Series 7' Light/Moderate rod. But like others have said, I don't think it's going to be good for throwing out the matrix shads for specks and reds.

For tails... the light action should be perfect imo...

Tails are soft plastics on jig heads.

I held that rod you posted the pictures of earlier today and considered buying it as well to throw tails and may end up going back for it.

I went into academy today with my new shimano stradic ci4+ and tried them all out. In the end the waterloo 7' medium came home with me. Seemed to be lightweight and not so whippy as some others. Obviously your result may vary.

Personal preference. I like the bucco's parabolic action with 1/8 and 1/4 jigheads and small/medium crank baits.

I think it's a little too whippy for 1/2 oz jigheads and the heavier mirrolures or topwaters but that's why I have a medium heavy rod. It also doesn't pop a cork as well as a fast action rod.

Castaway...it was the last one with no price tag. They gave me a scan sticker that said $49.99, but when I checked out...it rang up as $39.99. Academy on the Westbank Expressway.

I admit I am partial, but I fish with TidalSurge rods. They no longer make them but still have some in stock at a great price - all with recoil guides.

HookSpit makes great rods as well and they have two separate price points: http://www.hookspit.com/shop/hookspi...sic-mlt-detail

Lastly, the Castaway Donk is another good option that won't break the bank:
