I saw this on another site! sh*t. What could cause this to happen? Tm caught on fire.

A "not so snug" wing nut on negative terminal of my cranking battery caused the insulation on the wire going to lower unit to catch fire once.

Its a good idea to check battery connections after a couple of trips.
