Default Brand new 210 Bridge

Check those pristine flats out and the ledge going into Prien Lake, post construction of the bridge...

I was going to LaGrange when the loop opened. A bunch of us played hookey that day and made about 10 laps, I-10 to I-210

I remember riding our bikes on the dirt hills (overpasses) in front of LaGrange when they were building 210. Wow, those old pictures are incredible.

So is the flat still there? I know the area is covered by water but is it still a " flat"?
That ledge looks good to fish!
4 of us caught about 50 trout one day on the ledge that is off the main channel of the ship canal to the right if the 210 bridge.
We anchored up and threw out baits into the canal then slowly drug/ bounced up back to the top.

I was told that many years ago there was an old shack out on the water.....somewhere near where the barge is in that picture. Maybe where the pilings are located. Was also told that there was an old lady that lived in the shack.

Is this true? .....Can anyone confirm this?

Can any of you remember driving over the 210 bridge heading west and seeing the aqua green water inside the impoundment. I think it was Olin's tailings pond.

There are some pilings near the channel not far from the bank on the east side of that pic. Not sure if they were a shack or some kind of tie off structure.
