Default Dago Bread

I was reminiscing today about my old neighbor who passed away years ago. At least once a week, she would bring us a homemade dago bread. It wouldn't make it through the night. We would tear into it as soon as she walked through the door. Does anybody have a from scratch recipe they mind sharing?

It's basically bread stuffed with meat and cheese. It's been so long since I've had some, but I remember ground meat, maybe smoked sausage and/or tasso, with jalapeños and cheese. I've only made bread once in my life so I'm not entirely sure how to go about making it. All I know is its better than drunk sex on your birthday!

My great grandpa came over from Italy when he was young, and grew up on dago hill in St Louis. Just saw a cookbook from Dago hill at my moms the other day, will see if they have one in there.

I've had some good dago bread, but never made it.
