Default Tax free shopping on coolers this weekend

Just a heads up......This weekend is a tax free weekend on hurricane preparedness supplies. Coolers are included. Might be a good weekend to pick me up a yeti....

Is it no tax at all, or, no state sales tax?

My wife wants to go to New Orleans Saturday to some place that has a generator that she feels we need to run her commercial freezers in case of an outage. I told her to figure how much gas I'd burn going down there and coNpare that to the tax savings...not to mention the crowds that would rival Christmas Eve. If she feels that strongly about the generator.....I'll go get it next week after this crap is over.

Negative, Ghost Rider. Calcasieu Parish tax is 9.25% anywhere outside city limits. Inside Lake Charles is 9%. The tax free weekend only applies to the 4% state tax, so if you shop inside city limits you only pay 5% tax only.

Why does the Stine commercial say if you buy a lawn mower that cost $2999.00...you pay $2999 for it and not a penny more.
