hey cappy, thanks for sharing

I need help if you can,

I messed up and grabbed a 15 oz box of grahams and threw it all in there. (didn't realize you used the 8 oz box in the recipe)

now it didn't melt right (chocolate and nuts are still loose) so can I just throw in another can of condensed milt and rebake it? will that save it?

I have made some boo boos over the years and our motto is eat ya mistakes. The recipe is for 1 1/2 to 2 cups of smushed grahams, the special gluten free ones come in a smaller package so I guess that's where I messed ya up. As far as saving them if ya doubled the crackers and not the butter the crust wont set and they will be crumbly. What can I say feel free to try anything I might shave another half stick of butter on top and re bake with more condensed milk but I would prolly say what the heck and eat it anyway. So glad ya tried and let us know what happens aint it fun?

it was super easy, I used regular honey grahams and used the food processor to make the crumbs. it was a 14 oz box

I just redid it with another can of milk and I had already doubled the butter (used whole stick) cause im not tryin to be healthy (no such think as too much butter )

it looks like a gooey mess so it should set good this time, things seam to be stuck it place

there wasn't any sweetened condensed milk left at the store (empty shelves everywhere) so I just added a half cup sugar to regular condensed milk and hope it tastes the same that way. I actually got the last bag of pecans in the store so I got lucky trying to do this last minute and all.

Crap. I may have done the same thing. The oven has about 10 minutes left. We'll see what happends. If it is crumbly, it's going in a bowl with a little milk! We made it w/o the coconut so my wife will eat it. She hates coconut. Little man really enjoyed beating the heck out of the crackers with his hammer!

update: well after the first batch was done I poured a second can of condensed milk on top and it went back in for another 30 minutes at 350 and it came out like a graham cracker bread pudding with melted chocolate and pecans on top. super great!

I will make it the right way for new years but this way came out great too so I might do one with double crumbs and double milk but mixed all together so its a bread pudding with stuff mixed in it instead of just on top, either way its killer good.

ps - I also didnt use any coconut in it, I just dont like it

thanks Cappy

You will not be disappointed E. so easy even some drinking cajuns can make something that taste good out of it. We stayed home last night visited with neighbors passed out some of these goodies and bowls of gumbo and could smell the bon fires from the yard. wonderful night

I think i've seen some caramel chips that are just like the chocolate chips. I may add that in there as well. Gonna try this as soon as the stores are open.

I have made them with just caramel and with both but for me its chocolate and lost of it. Thats the beauty of the recipe. Daddy wrote it saying heaping cups but not how much to heap them. I remember him sticking the cup under the chocolate bag and running it over and while it ran over, turning to me and saying *** I like chocolate.
