looks like someone pulled a green head over a wood duck body leaning on that float. Did you kill that are is it from someone else? Do you have another pic?

No i didnt kill it, i wish i had. I promise its not a green head pulled over a wood duck body. Look at the purple wing patch and look at the red outline on the bill. Its bill is shaped like a mallard with the black button on the end but it has the red outline like a wood duck. I wish i had taken more pictures but sorry, thats the only one. By the way yall are right, its a mallard wood duck mix.

Beautiful bird....definitely one for the wall...I was thinking the same thing as super spook (except they would have had to use a mallard wing too). Never seen anything like that before!

Yeah, i really dont think the taxidermist realized how rare of a bird this is. He said the guy who shot it told him it was mixed in with a group of wood ducks. My question is, what limit would it count aginst, your wood duck or mallard limit???

Goes towards either one. If you have two woodies already and shoot that one, you can shoot another woodie. If you have 3 mallards and that one, you can shoot another mallard. Happens in the northeast more often than here. Mallards are hybridizing with black ducks and if you shoot a hybrid you can count it towards a mallard or a black
