Have not heard anything on the specks. Marsh island is always full of reds this time of the year. Start by the rocks in front of the game warden station and work your way west. Beat the banks like bass fishing you will run into them eventually. Shrimp or gulp under a cork and redfish spinners.

Skip v.bay unless you know spots that produce all year. Fishing is hit or miss I got a couple of good and bad reports from last week on redfish as for trout they'll show up on the reefs sometime next summer. I say that because they are getting a lot of snow up north and when it starts to melt the river is going to skyrocket...

I know it'll be tough to fish this time of year. We went christmas eve right before that front and caught one trout and a limit of reds. everything looked perfect for trout. Water, bait, tide, weather, and even light wind all looked perfect and only one friggin trout. Caught in the middle of sharks bayou

Think I'll pass. I have a good bass bite going in my area, which I'll stick to until it wears off.

Drove across the basin today going to work and water was still very muddy on east side but still ok on the far west side near the levee. Got my waders in the truck to wade fish some bar pits near the levee tomorrow on the way home.
