Default Help in Henderson

Just bought a boat and will be heading to Henderson Friday to see if we can catch some fish was wondering if anyone could tell me where to go to maybe catch some fish will try and find some shiners. Have never fished there before have only ever fished salt water and that was over 20 years ago Thanks in advance for the help

For shiners you can take the Henderson exit, take a right when you get to the end of the ramp then take your first left. Bait shop will be on you right a little ways down past boat city USA. You can get back on I10 and launch under the basin bridge, or just keep going past the bait shop until you hit the levee and go straight up and across the levee to Kern's landing. You will see the sign, it's a few bucks to launch and Jake is a good dude, he should be able to point you to some general areas.

I haven't fished bass or sacs in Henderson yet, just goggle eye a hand full of times. Be careful running out there your first few times, with the water up it is hard to see where the channels are and those stumps and logs hide right below the surface reaaaaal nicely.

you shouldn't need shiners.. they've been catching plenty sacalait on black/chartreuse jigs. Fish under the bridge and by the cypress trees near the bridge. I've heard some people are catching them deep and other shallow. Pretty good catches though. Bigeau area would be a good start
