Default Anyone hunt Brookhaven Miss area?

I am talking to a guy about a lease in Brookhaven Miss. Anyone here hunt that area? The lease is 1200 ac with only 7 members. Food plots, campground and shoothouses on the property, 4 ponds and 2 creeks. 12 year old pines mixed with Hardwood bottoms. Supposed to be lots of Turkey. The price per year is $2500 is that reasonable? I don't mind spending the money just don't want to waste my time or spend to much for the lease. I'm really not that familiar with the area. Any advice is appriciated. I will go to look at the lease when I get home.

My moms side of the family is from Brookhaven, the smith family.
They got hunting land all around that area. And it's good.
Just be aware that people run dogs up there for deer.
But if ur buying land it should not really effect you.
The price is pretty fair.
Are you considering cutting some of it to make $$$.
I only ask bc it's a common thing to do up there.
If ya got any questions or want me to ask my family about the land just give me a shout.

Didn't mean buying land; still half asleep.
I ment to say if u will have ur own piece to hunt it won't bother you.
If you like to bow hunt I'd stay away from a club that runs dogs.

And I also ment will the land owner be cutting woods for $$$$.

Ok; now I think its clear.
Ha

I don't know about deer, but, Lincoln County has been a turkey hotbed for as long as I can remember. I've killed a ton of gobblers up there, but, I hunted there when people would let you hunt on their land. Not no more.

Thanks for the info guys I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with it if it looks as good as it sounds. I really can't say exactly were it is because I don't know. I'm still waiting on the maps, rules and lease papers. I understand the people who used to have it own some kind of guide service in the area. They are hunting 4 bucks and 4 does per member. 8 points outside the ears on the bucks plus one of choice. My kids can kill any legal deer for the first then afterwards they have to be bigger than what they shot or at least 8 points. Guests only allowed 8points or better. Any deer killed by your guest or family come out of your 8. Also allowed 2 Turkeys per member. Hogs are not supposed to be bad either.

I used to deer hunt around Brookheaven about 5 years ago. The area is full of deer. I went three years in a row and killed every year. One year there were 4 of us and everyone killed.

Default East of BH

I hunt 700 acres just east of BH, we actually take BH exit to get to our property. Lots and Lots of deer, many does out on food plots most every hunt. Nice bucks killed every year, could be more, just hunt more dear than deer. We do not turkey hunt but see many turkeys in while deer hunting.
