Default Waterway Closures

Per WAFB / Ch. 9 FB.
All waterways in ascension and livingston parishes are now closed to all boat traffic untill further notice. The threat of water being pushed into camps and homes by wakes prompted this closuer.

False river was so low before the storm that it probably didn't dump enough rain to close it. Alot of the water in the amite basin is tide and backwater pushed in by the wind which also keeps the rain water from draining.

Default Glad to see False River didn't flood

Glad to see False River didn't flood.
After the floods that regularly occurred in the early 1990's did always seem to improve the fishing on the river once the water went down.
Don't like to see people get flooded, but this does seem to help the fishery.
