Default Where to buy bait crabs on Hwy 23?

Between No and Venice..

Coming back from a Venice redfish trip last year, found a little road side eatery about 40 N of venice of east side of road that sold live crabs at a reasonable price.

Any ideas?

Any how to keep them alive for 3-4 days in a room at a marina??

Crabs are pretty high this year. I was in Venice all week, the Shrimp/crab dock just on the other side of the levee in Venice had crabs for sale, but not a lot. (I stopped in there for bait shrimp) I watched quite a few crab boats running lines at the mouth of the river last week and I know their fuel bill must be eating them alive as most of the pots they pulled were empty or sparse. Consequently, I didnt see anyone selling crabs between Venice and Point-a- la hatch.

Good luck with that.

I would get a big ice chest, layers of ice on the bottom, something to keep the crabs from touching the ice and sitting on the bottom (one of those plastic coke cases turned upside down works if your ice chest is big enough, crabs, burlap sack, ice (thin layer)

Keep a crach in the lid and the drain OPEN with the ice chest propped up (about 2") so the water can drain out of the drain hole.
