Boral boats in Orange builds good boats and there another guy on south end of Orange that also builds boats but I don't have his contact information anymore...

Borel's mud boat runs much slower than most. Styron boats is who I would look at personally. I ran my Gatortail on an 18x48 Borel and was only able to touch 21 mph. That was me by myself with only gas and a battery. His boats are built like a tank but heavy.

I'm thinking the other boat builder in Orange that you are thinking of is Bosco boats. I don't have any info on them.

Eric Richard is good too. I have one of his boats. He will customize it to your liking. Styron is good too. Nothing bad to say about each. They both have there places. Both build a good sturdy boat and they run great.

If you want Eric number PM me

I second Karl Styron. He build mine a couple of years ago and I could not be happier. I'm actually half way thinking of selling my whole rig and getting him to build me a new one. He will build it EXACTLY the way you want. Mine is an 18x48 with a stock (except exhaust and air filter)36hp Prodrive and with a light load I have hit 29 mph. He built a tunnel hull for a buddy of mine about 25 years ago and it's still going strong. He actually modified for them a couple of years ago for a surface drive and it looks brand new. And they are HARD on it.

Check back in with us and give a review of the Boss, I'm sure people want to hear about it since its "new".

Very happy with it so far. I have it on the back of a 15x 48 flat express. So I'm not getting the full potential of the motor. I've never owned a surfacedrive. But driven some. The throttle response is awesome. Digs like a dozer. Been running mud flats and heavy timber. No issues. Went by boss manufacturer in sulpher. Great group of guys. Ran four tanks threw it. The fuel millage is nice compared to other drives. Handles like a outboard Tiller. Got myself stuck. But couple minutes of of digging and I was up and running. So far. So good. Plus boss has a two yr warranty which gives me a good peace of mind
