Center console??? I used to take my wife in my G3 and would ratchet strap the wheels to the base of the console with the wheels locked in place and her back butted up against the console so she wouldnt rock backwards. I would center her in the front of the boat up against the console. Just take the trip slow and easy and you should be fine.

My buddies dad has a dual console bay boat rigged for himself. he took the drivers seat out and locks his wheelchair in order to drive it. The whole back of the boat is open so he can wheel around to fish. To get in and out, he rigged up a winch on a frame made out of drill pipe that is mounted to the trailer. His harness for lifting was made out of a piece of flat bar for him to hold on to and two loops on some tow strap that loop around the front wheels. If you want I can try to get some pictures. It's definitely a process for him to get in and out of the boat, but he doesn't let it stop him. If you need any pics let me know.

Pics would be great. SaltERedneck, I have a G3 center console too. Someone mentioned making a mount to put on the rear seat post to connect the chair to so that he can spin around and fish either side out of his chair.

Not sure about the mount... There is enough room between the front deck and the livewell/console for him to be able to turn back n forth.

We are currently in the process of building about to handle some disabled veterans we take. We had a crane designed and built with an articulating arm and winch. We'll post pictures when done.

You may find something here.... http://www.broadenedhorizons.com/
There are plenty of adaptive options for immobilized patients. If you have an extra person just get the sling from a Hoyer lift and transfer to the boat that way. |
