Default Out w/ a B A N G!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!!!!! What a day to end my last offshore snapper trip of the year w/ the wife and kids. It's been a long time since I ran 5000 RPM's in the open GOM, and never had to stop until we got to my fishing spot. When I say flat calm and like glass, only the pics can explain how calm it was! And the only thing better than the sea conditions was the fishing!

We made short work of our snapper limit (12) and of course my wife had big fish of the day. We then went to another spot of mine and worked the mangroves up real good and ended the day at 1pm w/ a 150 box filled with red snapper, lane snapper, mangrove snapper and a few trigger fish thrown in for good measure.

I was amazed at how fast the bite was today and the fact that I did not lose any rods overboard with the kids. At one point, I had 4 rods bent in half and 3 kids screaming for "help", and I was the only with a free hand to keep them from losing the pole. A true Chinese fire drill.

What a trip! I can remember when I was about 5 or 6 years old sitting on a dock in grand isle with my snoopy pole while my dad and his buddies were cleaning fish. Got a bite, then my my pole shot out my hands like a rocket. My dad's buddies on that trip still talk about it when I see them.
