Last summer in Tennessee a group of us on a bachelor party were approached by a fella at the hotel we were staying at. There were probably at least 50 silver bmw's lining the street. I think this was the start of this Limu thing...the stars of this convention pulled up in Bentleys, Ferrari's and other luxury vehicles. I shoulda got started then...

are you serious??
LIMU is a food supplement. Food supplements do not have go through the bothersome problems of having to prove effectiveness and safety like prescription medications. Prescription drugs must go through years of testing for effectiveness and safety before they can hit the market. Some drugs have made it to market and problems were found later that forced their withdrawal even with this high level of scrutiny by the FDA. No, the FDA is not perfect, but it is the worlds best defense against ineffective and unsafe drugs. Food supplements are not investigated by the FDA and do not have to prove effectiveness. LIMU can claim to fix and prevent flat tires and this would be legal. The company can make all kinds of claims and self conducted studies to sound legit, but they are trying to sell something. Ask yourself
1) Why not get the drug approved for prescription status if this drug is so effective? Prescription drugs make big, big, big bucks for manufacturers. Follow the money! 2) While JO-BOATER and wife may be very nice people, what medical background do they have? Personal experience does not prove effectiveness or safety. 3) Why is this "drug" only sold through sellers and health food stores? I am a pharmacist and pharmacy owner and would sell it if it worked as claimed. I was approched by a LIMU representative to sell the product at a suggested 500% markup and make big bucks. We refused to stock it! Bottom line, marketing scam!!! |

Drug
manufacturers would never market anything that can be naturally found and that doesn't require some proprietary process, which in turn allows them to mark up their product insanely. Would you call them a scam, lol? I've never used or sold this product, but it appears that this Limu company uses network marketing like many other companies through the years have and is probably no better, no worse. Pyramid schemes are ILLEGAL scams that have no product, so this company does not qualify as such. The business opportunity is definitely not for everyone, but certainly doesn't call for bashing with terms like "scam", and "pyramid" scheme.
I personally stay as far away from prescription drugs as I can unless absolutely necessary. Still can't believe the commercials I see on TV telling you to tell your doctor to prescribe this medication for you.....really? Should you be telling your doctor which medication to put you on?? Most of the commercial is listing all of the side effects that is possible with that medication, lol.....makes you wonder if the side effects are worse than the original ailment you were seeking to alleviate. If anything is shady, it's the unholy trinity of the FDA, drug companies, and the AMA....doctor's have been accepting free drugs, bribes, etc. from drug companies for years to promote their drug, while the class action lawsuits abound because the FDA was in too much of a hurry to get some drug approved. Just my .02 FWIW.... |

I think LIMU plays on the placebo affect. They build it up with all the good things it can do for you so when you drink it, you make yourself THINK you feel better, but really its all in your head. Its like giving a 12 pack of O'douls to a teenager and they act like they are drunk. Same thing.

In response to pathfinderNI
Its called a patent, and any drug company would stampede your door if you had a product that works and is safe and could be patented, and yes they would mark it up and make big profits. I am not saying that drug companies are ethical or moral. The side effects listed on commercials are due the full disclosure requirements by the FDA. The FDA is not perfect by any means. But you are implying that Food Supplements are safer because there is no side effects listed. That's probably because there is no requirement for them to study and identify problems and then report the side effects! Products like LIMU, Formula 1, Herbalife, Juice plus, Monavie, Hadacol come and go every year. Most of these products are sold by multi level marketing by people who are informed by the manufacturer on how good their product is. Check the label on all of these products and it will state "food supplement". If it walks and talks like a duck ..........
