Default Toledo Bend March 20-22

A buddy and I went up and fished from Wednesday noon to Friday at noon. We had 20 keepers with a 6, a 5, and five 3's on mostly plastics. Texas side south end. Fish were shallow. We tried some C Rig and drop shot in deeper water with no success. For midweek the lake was crowded with a lot of boats from up north, Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, as well as Arizona and California.

The carp were spawning and thrashing the water up shallow. Every time I heard them I thought my buddy in the back had hooked a big one and jumped for the net.

We were in a small cove and had a boat come in behind us. He was fishing faster and when he got within 25 yards he fired up his big motor and buried the throttle rocking us as he went past. Toledo Bend in mid March on a full moon brings out the best in people.
