Water didn't look bad around the cove area but we didn't fish it! We ran offshore to SMI 233 & 234 with not much to show! Other people had better luck going east!

I aint saying that, but a couple weeks ago we went to go and catch redfish in the marsh and the trout were not biting at all supposedly. Ran out a couple hundred yards from the cove and saw the water looked decent decided to try trout for a bit, got on them and ended up catching well over 200 within site of the camps and only one boat was near, everyone went to the pass and we were there and done in a few hours. It seems like a place that is hit or miss, but you can not catch them at the house and I would rather be there tomorrow than what I will be doing tomorrow

Well at least today wasn't a wasted day. Launched early at the the point, ran to the trash pile and tied into a few good sized drum.... The pile was full of croakers. Ended up getting a good many big croakers ( I can't pass up whole fried croakers)....ran around and just got a few lil reds.... Water was nice and calm. Made for a good day on the water all in all...ImageUploadedByTapatalk1342395830.211704.jpg

A co-worker has lived on Grand Isle all her life (she is 50 or so) and she says croaker is her favorite of ALL fish, her second favorite is................................................ .............................fresh mullet They had gone out last week and caught some fish and she was mad that they forgot the cast net so she could catch some mullet never had either, but willing to try |

VB
Just got back from VB. Tried Redfish Point, water dirty, nothing; then tried T-Butte, water dirty, one keeper trout; then went to Little Charles, nothing, water dirty; then tried Dry Reef for a short while, nothing; then headed toward the Hammock and noticed birds diving.....game on! Probably caught 100 speck and white trout, mostly smallish, kept 17 specks and about 25 whites. Rain was threatening so we headed back in about 11:30 a.m.
