Default Solar Panels

I need some advice from all the electrical experts around here. (I'm scared to death of it and know just enough to be dangerous)

I am in the process of rigging up a floating camp. In the old days, my grandfather had a refrigerator that ran on butane and would stay on while we were gone for weeks on end from the marsh. I would like to rig up 3 deep cycle marine batteries to two large solar panels going to an inverter. My question is, will this be enough reserve power to run the small refridgerator and not risk a fire/safety hazard? I would like to keep a small refridgerator on the camp boat to hold the mayo/mustard/ice trays/etc. etc. so it is not needed on every trip. Once there it would be powered by generator.

Without getting to technical probably not unless its a very small fridge with very large batteries, solar panel, and inverter. Converting DC to AC this way is not very efficient.

You best bet is to do like your grandfather did a use a fridge the runs on butane. Possibley out of an old camper or motorhome.

I'd look at something like this so you eliminate the inverter then run it on 110V when you have the generator. Not sure how long it'd last being used 24/7.

Forgot the charger, should keep up with the fridge when running plus you could add some 12v LED lighting for manuevering at night without the generator.

I think I like this fridge/freezer better.
