Anyone in the concrete business on here. I'm looking to pour a 18 x 51 slab at 4 inches deep. Anyone knows what this will cost? Thanks in advance.

If my math is correct..... that is 11.3 cu yds of concrete.

@ about $100 per yard..... that would be $ 1130 for just the concrete.

Then you have the labor and materials to form it up and finishing the concrete.

You could probably save several hundred, if you did the forming and putting in the re-enforcing concrete wire.

Be sure that the finished slab does not have any "low" spots that will hold water.

I need a couple driveways done if anyone local to lc is on here that does concrete, I could use a bid. I want to skip over the limestone for a few years route and go straight to concrete if possible.

I did the formwork myself and had a finisher come in and pour and finish for my 14x25 kennel slab. He will form it up too if you'd like. He was the best price I could find, and I did some checking. His name is Moses-337-526-3076. I'll call him again for my next concrete work.

18x51x4" is 11.333 yards
They'll send a 12 yard truck for that
Concretes running about $110 a yard
110 x's 12 = 1320
Decent finisher will run you anywhere from $1-$2 bucks a square foot to finish
You have 918 sq ft
900 - 1800 to finish it
so anywhere from $2220-$3100

How much they have to dig out, if they need a cement pump or boom truck, georgia buggy all factors in. Call the cement plant to get recs. If your parking a car on it you don't need wire, just get fiber concrete.

18x51 at 4".....look in the neighborhood of an extra three or four yards of concrete. Unless you have a laser level and a better way or grating other than a shovel or front end loader, you will be 5-7" in a bunch of areas adding to concrete cost. Every slab we have ever poured had an extra truck ordered towards the finish of the job.

I'm also debating between limestone and concrete driveway for my camp in hackberry. Any of you guys know the difference in cost between the two?

Jpharr I think limestone is in the $800 range for a 14 yd load if I'm not mistaken.

Best bet is to call around and ask prices....I've bought a few loads of 60/40 dirt and fill sand lately...prices varied everywhere. A lot depends on your location....try to find someone close by

I recapped my old driveway last year with crushed concrete. Two "heavy loaded" 14 yard trucks costs me $950 ish. Several years back, put in a new horseshoe driveway. Had three 28 yard ?? big rig dump trailers brought in, a lot cheaper that way.

I would defiantly contact this guy just got off the phone with him beat everyones prices by almost half!!!!

a good mix will run you 103+ / yard if you walk in off the street. i know the math says 11...... yards but you find me a digger who will grade that perfectly to 4"...not gonna happen , id also put some deeper footings in areas of higher traffic around the edges . i would order 13 yards to compensate for sloppy digging/ grading and for "beefed up" areas.
other areas of added cost:
- added fiber in to concrete
- 4000 psi concrete instead of a 3000 mix
- form wood, metal keyway for control joints , steel mesh
- form/ grading labor
-finishing

also this is would be considered a small job so expect to pay more / sqft to get a crew to show up to do it

I was wanting to get a slab poured, just so happens they had a crew pouring a slab for a new house up the street from me. I stopped by when they were finishing it and asked them if they knew anyone who would want to pour a slab and told them what I needed..... they nearly beat each other up trying to get the job. The guy who did it ended up charging me $1 a square foot to dig out an area, form it, finish it and wreck the form. After I paid for concrete, georgia buggy, beer for the crew and labor it was right at $2.15 a square foot, this was back in 07 so I know prices have gone up.

I recently looked into doing a concrete driveway myself. I contacted the guy who poured my slab for my house James Ganes. He said the safest way to figure out a price right now is to multiply your sq footage by $4.00. That is without him giving a solid bid on a set of plans. He said the $4 will cover everything from labor to concrete, wire, boards, ets. It’s just a safe number to estimate with. Good Luck.
