It didn't say. I went all the way around i 10 to 14 and when I got to the light in creole it said 82 was closed .23 miles ahead also.

Big sign right before stellys

"Hwy 82 closed Mp 52.3"

Could a person still get to Rockefeller Headquarters by turning on Little Chenier road and coming out by the Mermentau River Drawbridge on Hwy. 82? or is that the bridge that is out?

Thanks,

CH

I just spoke with someone at Rockefeller Headquarters. She says that yes indeed a person can still take the Little Chenier road and turn on 82 and access the Headquarters. It is not the Mermentau Hwy 82 draw bridge that is out. It must be a smaller bridge further west along 82.

It is not the Mermentau River Bridge on Hwy 82. I passed over it yesterday twice.

If you follow the detour signs, it will bring you through Lake Arthur. I guess that is for the 18 wheelers and permitted loads. There will be lots of people making a long trip for nothing, when all they have to do is turn at Little Chenier road or East Creole road and get to Grand Chenier when coming from the north on 27.

The west zone opens Sept 4, but lines will be set out on Sept 3. The east zone opened August 28.
