I don't think the battle is the same as in other states.

Eman.....Let me ask you this. I know a guy who put up a gate to block a channel. Yes he owns the land all of it, His family has camps there and oil field has equipment there. Years ago you could fish this area but now he dont want anyone in it? Thats his choice not the CCA's You cant fight land owners you will not win. Beleave me me this issue has came up with the CCA many times..... You take the places that put up gates and compare it to the public access fish able waters and its less than 1% so who is this hurting? NO ONE.... Just the guys who want to raise hell about it....... SO big deal CCA cant reverse the right for someone to place a gate on his or her land......WHO CARES..ITS THE LAND OWNERS CHOICE.......

CCA good out shines its bad......Also if you want to audit there money you can!! They are a non Profit organization...Yes a Charity....

Who is going to fight for fishing rights if not the CCA??? Can you answer that question. WHO?

You dont have to support them but yet you reap off what they have provided for this state. Every red fish and trout you catch was saved by the CCA banning Gill nets....

Maybe down your way its 1% but over where i fish in areas it's over 50%
Like i said b4 yes CCA has done good by helping get rid of the gill nets .
and yes they fight it everytime it comes back up. But maybe you can explain it to me ,If CCA can fight for anglers rights to fish and fight against the gates in other states then WHY can't they do it here?

Default a dog in this fight

hi guys
i have been reading all this about stuff you guy's have posted about cca
and i dont have a dog in this fight, i dont live in your part of the world but just let me say this, i have to agree with what "w" said about if we as fishermen and the small majority if we dont have someoneone to stepup when it's time to step up then we the little people will get swept under da rug if you get my drift, now i dont want to get banned here so i will try to be cautious in my next statement, if we let those folks up there in congress continue to run our country into da ground we aint gonna be able to fish or hunt or get medicial care or even go to da toilet, someone has to stand our ground, cca is far from being a perfect but at least they are putting some type effort into our fishing rights as best they can, i cant do what they do by my self so i have no choice but to support cca as best i can,and by doing so i feel i can be judgemental if i feel like they mess up, i donate rods all year long to many cca funcations on your guys as well as texas, fla, alabama, and others parts, at least if i die today i can say i gave it a shot for the love of the sport that i love """ fishing""
but like soneone else said i dont support cca that's fine this is why our guy's are being killed daily so that we have that right to say just that.
my dog is now gone to bed.

Well said Billy.....

I see guys on here and other sites that try to bash the CCA but yet do they stop to think about what good they have done or what they will do..... Right now CCA is trying to put a ban on Bow fishing for REDS..REDS ONLY....Not Gar,Drum,Carp, or any other non sport fish.... I think that we need to ban bow fishing for reds.... Reds are a sport fish so catch them with a rod n reel...(My Opinion) CCA will not make everyone happy but they are the only voice us fisherman have.....left

just my 2 cents i would not even bring up the bow fishing deal, you see how much crap that started at lsm. i don't bow fish never have, but i would like to go, it looks fun. as far as banning redfish thats cool. you can't shoot a bass so why should it be legal to shoot a redfish. redfish are superior to bass any day in MY book.
