Sweet.....also read this in the comments.....The way I understand the new requirements is that for an orginal credential you are still required to apply and pay for the TWIC so the TSA can share the photo and fingerprints with the USCG.
For renewals - not having a TWIC may delay your credential being issued, and you will have to sign an agreement stating you understand that. Ref: CG-543 Policy Letter 111-15 dated Dec 19 2011.

Louisiana Pigment paid for all of the maintenance hands and a lot of the operators to have a twic card to get into the port of Lake Charles where our ore is unloaded. After we were all done the port moved the gate so we can get in without requiring the twic card. I'd like to know how much that fiasco cost!

Gov't used a contractor to do all the TWIC work.
Lockheed was who was doing it when it first started.
Not sure who does it now.

I really want to work temp construction at one of the plants in lc this summer. I dont have experience but I work hard and Im strong and used to physical activity.

Where can I apply for for a twic card, and where can I sign up for a safety class?

Twic card is on the first floor of capital one tower. Safety classes are on Ryan street at the safety council
