Satellite for 4/24 looked pretty good but....couldn't go.
4/25 on the other hand was chocolate city everywhere. At the launch, Chlorides were 2-3 ppt. Half way to the Gulf, 3-5 ppt.
Ran to
Flat lake....mucho muddy and very rough (2-4' seas), wind out of the South. Headed North into Flat Lake hoping to find some decent water.....nada. Tried a couple inland lakes north of Rollover lake...not much bait swimming around and only a few Reds.. scattered. Chlorides in inland ponds were 12-13 ppt. Caught and released 2 Reds. Man it was Sunny bright and HOT !! Live bait used was mostly croakers, pogies and also some busted crab.
Here is the latest twist out of Rollover. The
Garfish were EVERYWHERE !! Had an old, beat up 7' cast net and caught 10+ Garfish 1 1/2' - 4' long. Several larger ones cut holes in my net and escaped. Also caught and released a big Red with the net and caught a few nice shrimp, but not many. Didn't play with the crabs, but they're still there. Overall ...pretty bad.
OOP's..... It was a fun day.
