The 225 sho would smoke your little optimax. And yes inorder to actually run a boat with some speed you need to know wth your doing. Just like running the marsh.

Bottom line, sho is the bomb.

Prop shaft snapped in half. They said it was just a freak thing that it is not common. Supposedly the generation 2 verado's like the one I have are much stronger. They had to replace my entire lower unit but they are replacing it with the new heavy duty Verado Pro lower unit. My engine only has 35 hours on it.

I am going to keep the boat for the rest of the year and see how I feel in January. If that 300 SHO is out I may see about trading mine in. It would be smart to keep it another year. That being said if it happens again my wife will make me get a new one.

Speaking of junk do not get me started on a Talon anchor system that is another long story.

It will not go down past 5 feet. I had this issue once before so I brought it back and supposedly it was fixed. I used it again and it worked the first time and then on the second trip it stuck at 5 feet again. Now Minnkota made the dealer ship the unit to them (which takes time) and they have not responded about rather or not they will fix it again (which it may break again) or send me a new one. Either way I have to wait for them to ship it back. I had a power pole for 5 years with the only problem I ever had being with the remote controls.

No stealth mode for night fishing. We show up, do our olympic anchor toss, crank the generator and sit back and drink a coke/beer, tell a few stories and then start fishing.

Mine did the same thing, it lost a .99 O ring causeing the secondary latch not to disingauge. Im sure it'll do it agin. Ive got a 20pk of O rings in my console. no body Knows much about fixing them because there so new I figured it out on my own so I would not have down time. And more than likely if its not that its one of the three C pins backing out

Mine was the O ring issue as well. Get this, when the dealer called Minnkota they were NO help and had no idea how to fix it so my dealer figured it out on their own. This time they shipped it to Minnkota hoping they would get me a new one but i bet they can't pull it off.

If they only knew how much as a website owner I plan to bash them (Minnkota) if they screw me over.

I cant say the same Brenda the lady who answers the phone was more than willing to send me any part I needed, but nobody knew why this thing was not working. If mine fails again, I will, I repeat WILL have a new one or a power pole on my boat. I threw a cajun anchor for too many years to spend a Grand on an electric anchor for looks.
