Default Grand Isle?

When is a good time to go? My family wants to go and rent a camp for a long weekend or a week. We have a boat, but my dad does not want to bring it. Should we try to get a camp on the beach and surf fish? Any other ideas or recomendations on when to go and where to go or where to stay? There will be four people going, i think.

Already hearing of folks catching fish in the surf, but it is about to get really good. June is probably the best for everything. The trout are in the surf, the crabs are in the surf, and the bull reds are in the pass, which does not require a boat. You can catch reds off the sides of the road if you want some reds. Taking the family down for a few days in July and its always a good time. No need for a boat, the boats are generally trying to get up close to the beach where the waders are!

Really good times in Grand Isle, I would avoid going the weekend of the Tarpon Rodeo though if you can

Memorial Day and July 4th can be crowded too. The weekends also get crowded during the summer as the tourists come in. Try for the weekdays if possible. Try grand-isle.com for places to stay. June , July and early August are all good times to go. Good luck!
