Cleaning New Triton.
Please don't snicker under your breathes. Had the FinChaser compounded and waxed. Trying to keep it nice and shiny. I'm having trouble getting the non-skid decks totally clean of shoe marks. Using the soft brush at the car wash and the high pressure wahs isn't getting it ALL clean. Should I use a little soft scrub or Comet etc. A little clorox spray?? A stiffer brush??? Thanks for any advice. I'm a little anal trying to my new toy looking good. Thanks Biggun |

Academy and WalMart sell some black shoe mark stuff (Star Brite)) that works good. I used to use it all the time.
I fished out of a guide boat once that had a sign below the front deck that read, "No black sole shoes allowed". |

i have the same boat and when i bought it i was in the same situation as you , it was my first fiberglass boat . i found a mixture of bleach/water in a pump sprayer works great , first i hit it with the high pressure at car wash then mist the bleach mixture onto the deck , while the bleach is soaking in i wash the outside by the time im done with the outside the inside is ready to hit with a stiff bristle brush then hit it again with the high pressuremake sure you rinse the boat very well so no bleach is left in the drip rails of boxes ect . ive found either bare foot or non marking shoes only in my boat save me a ton of work when it comes to cleaning . slao keeping your boat covered out of the sung will make the finish on the non skid not rot away and "open" the pores which absorb the dirt ect .

I buy the deck cleaner with PTF. That stuff works wonders and adds a protective layer to the surface. I follow the directions use a long handle brush to scrub it in let it sit and rinse it off. All dirt and scuffs are gone. Very good stuff.

The inside of my whaler does not have gelcoat and shows everything. Magic eraser is the only thing that cleans it.

I have the same boat and the non skid is a pain to clean. I tried them all and the magic eraser does work best.. I am reluctant to use bleach everytime on it. I just let everyone know that fishes with me not to wear black sole shoes. I do however use woody wax on it every time I wash it. I find it doesnt last long but I just hit it with the pressure washer and everything comes off. Then reapply the woody's. Only takes a few minutes.

Tell ur fishing friends to get non marking shoes or go barefoot.
I had a few people get on my boat with black sole sneakers....they went barefoot. |

Hey Gunner, how you been? I use the Magic Eraser to remove scuff marks, and the cheapest toilet bowl cleaner I can find at the dollar stores in the spray bottle for the stains. I find a little toilet bowl cleaner is just enough acid to wash out the stains when I hit it with the pressure washer.
Now, once it's clean - I add about half a bottle of Mop & Glo liquid floor wax to the wash bucket when I was my boat to give it some protection. It may be my imagination, but seems the floors and walls are easier to clean. |

DO NOT use bleach. Bleach is an oxidizer it removes wax an will harm metals, especially aluminum and will harm vinyl..
Some already suggested Starbrite deck cleaner. Good stuff. There is non skid wax if you really want to get carried away. |
