Default Flounder gigin

Anybody know where to gig a flounder in grand isle? Goin for labor day lookin for advice.

I've always done OK at the state park. The only thing you'll have to be staying there or go by boat. Also another spot is right off the bridge to the left. It's a little softer there but I've done OK there as well.

If you can get to the sand bar that goes towards Elmers island you can do pretty good. Any place on the back side of the island that has a hard bottom is good, you can find doormats.

The Back of Elmers Island is a really good place to gig, but the you have to do it by boat to stay legal or most people just jump the gate at night. I have never tried jumping the gate.

Before they dredged under the bridge at Grand Isle, you could walk all over the place and clean up. We wouldn't need a gig to catch flounder, we would catch 50-60 flounder under the bridge in a few hours. Fun, cheap fishing.
