We were out 40 miles + on Sunday...but worth it. Three brothers - good stuff. |

Ray, Yes, the Mangroves are there and we target 'em freelining (65Lb braid / 30lb flouro, 2/0 circle hook - no weight) near the platforms in 50 - to 100 ft of water. We start with chunkin cut pogie to get them interested and just pay out line in the chum line til you feel 'thump' - game on then.
Sort of a finesse tactic, but it works. We once chummed up red snapper (multiple limits) in 40 to 50 ft using this method. Example here: http://www.mathernebrothers.com/Math...ffshore.html#8 |
