Trolling motor connection
Academy had a two-pronged adapter with short wires, but is there a place (in Lafayette) that sells a four-pronged type (with clamps for the battery maybe) on the other end? Thanks. |

call superior trolling motors on banks ave. If it exists he can get it for you. You could also just cut the plug off and install clamps, or make your own adapter.

when you say "little" im thinking of the transom style 50 lbs thrust or less motors so ...
you sure that plug wasn't something someone added to the motor on their own? I would say just cut the connector off and put clips on it like your old one had. unwrap the wires and I bet only two of those pins are being used and the other two are just for correct orientation of the plug |

I bought industrial quick disconnects online (box of 4) for 10.00 or something.. Ran new wires in my boat ( bass hunter ) quick set in front for battery, and outback for trolling motor.

IMO..... unless you take your trolling motor off the boat for "safe" storage, I would "Hard wire" it and not use a Plug-in type connector. I got 2 connectors like shown in pic from Home Depot [Lowe's did not have one small enough].
I seal it up with "Liquid Tape" then put a short piece of old rubber hose over the connectors to be sure vibration does not cause it to wear thin and cause a short. |
