Dularge Reds & Trout!

Enjoyed a great trip earlier this week with none other than the Infamous Coogan Ryan! Chris and I joined Coog down at the lil camp on Mud Lake Pass for a good ole fashion redfish & trout slam on the DU! After a great stuffed pork chop supper the night before we got an early start in the big Blazer Bay. Our first stop produced about 15-20 nice trout but it didn't last. Probably could have caught more but somebody wouldn't put away a certain topwater lure which was.....ok I'll just say it....was useless! lol The fish wanted the swimmers and you got to feed them what they want!! However, our day ended with a bang as the three of us caught in excess of 100 fish keeping our 75 fish limit of trout and about a dozen nice reds. We chunked back some nice reds over the 27in. mark as we had all that we wanted. Blueback,Bunker and Glo/chartreuse swim baits worked best. We caught some nice fat reds on the Highlife swim baits too but the color blue was the ticket for most of the day! It had been a few years since fishing last with Coogan and Chris and I had a blast doing the DU! Good luck fishing.
