Default transom work?

does anyone weld aluminum, I need to make a transom reinforcement for my 1448, I notice it has been flexing a little and rather fix it before it breaks! I'm buying some 3/8th inch 3x3 aluminum angle one peice to go across the transom one peice to be bolted on the bottom and another peice to go diagonally down linking the two peices together.

got a guy here in lake charles that does great work for good price, I had him weld some pretty thick plate on my transom and it looks real good and strong, have you thought of maybe having wood remove and then just a strong aluminium transom built

yeah I also thought about replacing the wood with thick marine board, which is some type of plastic that won't rott.
