Default Cheramie

Made the trip down to the Cheramie off of HWY. 398 today with Fliesitdies from LAS and one of his friends from school. Wind was blowing hard all day, but seemed to die down as the day dragged on. Slow to find them at first, but when we did, we put a few on ice... 25-30 bream, 3 nice size bass caught on white spinnerbaits just off the trees, and 3 nice sized catfish. The catfish hit the worms under a cork, and the bream was mixed with worms and crickets. Then towards the end of the trip, someone (he/she claims accidentaly) hooked my favorite spinnerbait just under the eye of a 5 foot gator. Hook went in and down somehow so it missed the eye. After a 5 minute fight, finally got it to the boat and eventually in the boat. When we got in the boat, the other 2 "fishermen" were both standing 14 feet away literally on the trolling motor while I was left alone with the gator on the back deck. Got the bait out without seriously harming the gator and it was released after a few more seconds of dealing with a pissed off gator on the back deck of a 17' Xpress.
